Re-installing on another PC

You can only run HER on one PC per the licensing agreement, but if you need to re-install HER on a new PC, that's OK to do. I also permit you to install on two PCs if you want to shuttle your recordkeeping between two PCs (there is a separate tip file I can e-mail to you for doing this). Here is the procedure to follow to run with your current data...

On your new PC...

1) Install HER -- all 4 floppies or 1 CD

2) Install any upgrade floppy you may have (none if you have the CD)

3) Start up HER (your old records won't be there yet)

4) When you get the Intro Screen, close it and ignore all warnings about

not being set up correctly. You should go to the Home Form.

5) Slide the write protect tab open (so you can see through it) on your HER

backup floppy (this is just a write-protect safety precaution).

- The file "hsr2dat.mdb" must be on this floppy. If you have version 1

the file is "hsrdat.mdb"

6) Put your HER backup floppy into the floppy drive.

7) From the File menu, select Restore Database and follow screen prompts.
