Copying Lessons and Text
Previous  Top  Next

There are two things you can do to speed up lesson entry. You can copy a lesson from one student to another (including points and time entries) by using the AutoCopy feature. Begin by double-clicking in the text area of the assignment you want to copy from. This brings up the AutoCopy window -- then select the student and the course (for the student you want to copy to), and click on the "Copy Lesson" button. Do this for each student you wish to copy to.

The other method is useful when you want to copy a lesson from one day to another for the same student. First turn on the course filter, so you are working with the subject you want. Then, to copy text into the blank lesson line (at the bottom of the list) from the line above, just put the cursor in the empty text area and then press the Control and apostrophe keys together (Ctl + ') -- or if you have version 2, just press the F4 key.

Copying and pasting text in general can be done by...

1) Highlight the text you want to copy (drag the mouse across it)

2) Press the Control and C keys together (or select Copy from the Edit menu)

3) Move the cursor to where you want to put the text

4) Press the Control and V keys together (or select paste from the Edit menu)

Note: Version 2 of HER does not allow lesson plan re-use. You cannot automatically "transfer" a lesson plan for student A to student B in a following year or even in the same year. A future version of the program will have lesson plan re-use as a feature. Until then, lesson plans are re-entered by typing them in.
