About Version 3
and Shareware
-----------------------------
When you purchase software, you are actually buying a license to use
the software. HER version 3 will be "shareware" -- software
that can be downloaded from the Internet, or received on CD, and tried
out for a period of time before you commit to purchasing a license.
Note:
We feel the need to clarify a the meaning of "original customer."
An original customer is any customer who purchases and licenses HER
directly from DataPlus Solutions or from an authorized independent reseller.(first
hand owner of HER)

|
While
many of the most exciting features will be revealed at the time of product
release, here are some you can look forward to...
|
| |
-
Easy transfer of your data from version-2 (v2) to version-3 (v3).
- All of the work you do in v2 will transfer to v3 so you can begin
using the added features in v3 right away.
|
|
| |
- Simplified
lesson planning
- A new Lesson Plan Manager module will enhance lesson planning.
- Create lesson plan templates so plans can be easily reused or applied
to many students.
- Although you can "auto-copy" lessons between students in
version 2, you won't need to in v3 -- just use the lesson plan template.
- Repetitive lessons will be easily managed.
- Easier to plan an entire year, or don't plan ahead at all if that's
not your style.
|
|
| |
- Simplified
date entry and date management for assignments.
|
|
| |
- Tracking
of core/non-core courses with flexible reporting of time accumulated
in each.
|
|
| |
- V2
tracks cumulative time in hours for each subject and does a grand total
converted to days (per your setup). V3 will also offer a grand total
in hours.
|
|
| |
- Sub-courses.
For example, you can have a Language Arts course that consists of as
many "sub-courses" as you wish --such as "Grammar",
"Spelling", and "Reading". You can then have all
of the sub-courses add into the main course and have only the main course
appear on a report card. Optionally you can have them all appear separately
on the report card. This also applies to the progress report and transcript.
You may wish to report time and grades for individual sub-courses and
you will be able to do so.
|
|
| |
- Pick
days of the week you want any course to fall on -- per student.
|
|
| |
- Improved
grade weighting options
- Final grade can be based on percentage weights of assignment types.
(Example: 30% on daily work, 20% on quizzes, 50% on exams)
- You can do this in v2 but it's not automatic.
|
|
| |
- The
option to grade with marks like "E" (excellent),
"S" (satisfactory), "U", etc. (You can give these
as final
grades in v2, but not per assignment as you may in v3).
|
|
| |
- A
new feature to track appointments, expenses, borrowed/lent items.
|
|
| |
- A
full-feature graphical calendar for simplified date planning and tracking.
(There is a simple calendar in v2).
|
|
| |
- Student
health record forms-- including suggested immunization schedules.
|
|
| |
- Control
how your reports look with new options...
- Hide certain data (like points and time in the progress report).
- Full control over sorting of data.
- Many new reports.
|
|
| |
- High
school tools - including improved transcript and diploma
